"Senecta perfidiaque iuventutem facultatemque semper superabunt"

Phil (Perilous) Polden

Date of Birth: 11th November 1963
Home Town: Heybridge Basin.
Bike: Aprilia RS250
Years Racing: 4.

Started racing at a very wet Brands meeting in March 1999 on an NC30 with 18000 miles on the clock in the hairy days when the Rookie 400s were mixed with the rookie 600s. Although I fully expected to get lapped I actually came 4th in the Rookies & 12th in the Supersport. I was so excited when I found out I'd come 4th that I promptly crashed into the front of a Range Rover in the pit tunnel thus living up to the Perilous Polden T shirt the Chambers sidecar team had made for me. (No. HE was in the wrong tunnel.)

Bought the Aprilia for the 2000 season after getting fed up of the NC30 firing bits of inlet valve at me through the carburettors.

Results have varied from 3rd to 27th culminating in the 2001 season where anything that could go wrong did go wrong. Although I did get the Sportsman Of The Year trophy which was great because it was totally unexpected.

Ambitions: To persevere with the Aprilia until I get the hang of riding the bloomin' thing.
